Week 5

Online Learning

BONUS: This week, we're going to look at online learning, to be able to help faculty beta-test their online courses. Many times, faculty have ideas about how to navigate their online courses, but find themselves frustrated by the students' methods and strategies. What may appear obvious to those taking the course may not be obvious to the one designing the course. The purpose of this module is to develope some critical knowledge around what "good" online learning looks like and be able to give faculty feedback on their online courses.

First, in Slack and using Hypothes.is, discuss and annotate the readings below.

  • Reimagining the Syllabus

  • Discussing Discussions

  • A Bill of Rights and Principles for Learning in the Digital Age

Once you have read, annotated, and discussed the readings, you will once again design another evaluation and feedback document, this time for an online class. I will share the Google Docs link on Slack.
